Where’s the joy in driving gone? We used to get in the car and take a road trip across the country only stopping to check out some new attraction or our favorite out of the way roadside stand. Nowadays it seems we spend more time driving just to get to the destination than actually enjoying the journey. It’s time for the joy of driving to return and the right car for the job is the new 2017 Jaguar F-Type. This is a car that will tickle your fancy and make to scream with delight as you remember why you wanted to drive in the first place.

The F-Type is a car that carries one of the most admired names in the industry while giving you some of the best sports car manners on the road. Think of it like a raging bull that makes it home in time for tea and knows the proper manners. This stylish and powerful beast is one that will make you want to drive even when you don’t have to just so you can hear the engine growl or feel the grip it has on the curves you find to challenge is agility.

Looking under the hood will give you two engines that are tuned differently to give you the most power. The first engine is an impressive 3.0-liter supercharged V6 found in the base model and the S version. This engine produces 340 horsepower and 332 lb.-ft. of torque in the base version and is attached to either a six-speed manual or automatic transmission to give you 16 city/24 hwy mpg when the manual is used and 20 city/28 hwy mpg for the automatic version. The S version brings you 380 horsepower and 339 lb.-ft. of torque to bring in more power to give you a quick and decisive ride.

Moving up to the larger engine will allow you to enjoy a 5.0-liter supercharged V8 engine which is attached to an eight-speed automatic transmission and set up in AWD only. For the F-Type R you will admire the 550 horsepower and 502 lb.-ft. of torque which is good enough for a 3.9-second run to sixty mph and a top speed of 186 mph. Moving up to the SVR produces 575 horsepower and 516 lb.-ft. of torque, giving you a run to sixty mph of only 3.5 seconds and a top speed of 200 mph which is perfect for this exceptional luxury sports car.

Even the base model brings in Jaguar comfort with leather and suede cloth upholstery, six-way power seats, an eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a navigation system, a 770-watt twelve-speaker Meridian sound system, HD Radio and Bluetooth connectivity. The F-Type S models add 14-way power seats and a panoramic moonroof. All Jaguar models come with EliteCare which gives you five years/60,000 miles of complimentary scheduled maintenance and roadside assistance.

Moving up the trims and looking at packages to add to this awesome car you find dual zone climate controls, front and rear parking sensors, blind spot monitoring, a rearview camera, heated seats, a heated steering wheel, a power trunk on the coupe models , fade resistance carbon ceramic brakes, a limited slip differential, AWD and torque vectoring. Add any or all of these amazing features and you have a car that’s more than just a joy to drive.

As you may expect the Jaguar F-Type doesn’t come cheap, but it does come at a reasonable price for everything included. the base model coupe will cost you $62,395 and if you want the Convertible the price comes in at $66,395. Adding the automatic in the lower trims increases the price by $1,300 and the F-Type S starts at $80,000 with the R coming in at $106,000 and the top end SVR showing up at nearly $127,000 just to begin the conversation.
