2015 Subaru BRZ

What makes a Subaru a Subaru? That would be the all-wheel drive that is included on every Subaru model making them fit for off road and on road control and capabilities. That would be every car except the BRZ. The BRZ is a rear-wheel drive sports car that offers a ton of fun and is easily one of the most dynamic vehicles on the road easily handling mountain roads or heading out to a weekend race to show off the awesome power and performance.

Offering a throwback feeling of the days of the Mazda RX-7 or Datsun 280Z the BRZ is a full-fledged and awesomely-capable sports car that has it all for owners to enjoy. Quick, agile and fun the BRZ screams down the road and offers owners an easy to love styling and performance that quickly entices onlookers as well. As a sports car the BRZ is actually ok as a daily driver with plenty of fuel efficiency making it a car that can be enjoyed daily instead of just on weekends. For 2015 the BRZ adds new shock absorbers to create a much smoother ride. Subaru is also offering a special edition of the BRZ called “Series.Blue” that adds aerodynamic enhancements and unique paint colors to the mix.

The BRZ drives with a very aggressive and athletic performance that is very easy to enjoy and take full advantage of. With a fully balanced suspension and chassis as well as a limited slip differential the handling becomes quick, decisive and natural with reflexes that are superior to almost any other vehicle on the road. The steering comes in as a top performer as well making the BRZ a great choice for any type of driving on the road. This car seems like it seeks out the curvy and windy roads of canyon runs.

The BRZ is only powered by one engine and it is a really awesome model helping to keep the control in place and balancing the weight as needed. This cool engine comes in the form of a 2.0-liter flat four-cylinder engine that offers a very easy to enjoy 200 horsepower and 151 lb.-ft. of torque. While the power numbers by themselves might not seem very impressive, this is a very light and small car making the power easy to enjoy and allowing for maximum use of every horsepower under the hood. Two transmissions can be found in the BRZ, a six-speed manual transmission which when paired with the engine allows for a 22 city/30 hwy mpg, or a six-speed automatic transmission that increases fuel efficiency to 25 city/34 hwy mpg.

Inside the cabin of the BRZ allows the driver to see this car is purely built to be a sports car. The front seats are roomy with plenty of legroom but the back seats are better left for some luggage and not actual passengers. With a control panel that is not overdone the BRZ offers plenty of control information and easy to enjoy placement of these controls. The dashboard shows off with very cool metal trim that inspires the feeling of sport style on the inside. The most important part of this control center is the placement of the steering wheel in relationship to the pedals and shifter and the BRZ comes in with one of the most intuitive and easy to use set ups on the market.

As the cousin to the FR-S the BRZ comes in with identical styling that shows off as pure sports car fun and dynamics. From the low and large grill on the front to the angular swept back headlights the front of the car looks lean and mean. The hood curves nicely to a low windshield and offers a very low angle to the roof to allow for plenty of aerodynamics to be enjoyed. Along the sides are gorgeous contours and curvatures around the wheels and with a very low to the ground stance this road hugging machine is ready to ride. In the rear is found a body molded spoiler and shortened trunk reminding onlookers this car is built to perform, not to haul. As for the Series.Blue limited edition models, there will be 500 of each color, Blue Pearl and Crystal White Pearl, offering a car that will be sought after by many. Finally, the double star shaped and inspired wheels add a crazy amount of speed and interest to the overall look of this awesome sports car.

As a sports model, the standard features for the BRZ are very slim, mostly putting the emphasis on performance from the ground up. The standard equipment includes a Torsen limited slip differential, a navigation system with a 6.1-inch touch screen, six airbags and an eight-speaker audio system with an auxiliary and USB port. This allows any owner to have a few great gadgets to enjoy but mostly still keeps the attention on the road ahead.

The BRZ does have a very nice list of optional equipment making the upper models even more stylish to go along with the sporty car. The optional features include heated seats, Alcantara leather inserts and bolsters, dual zone climate control, fog lights, keyless entry, keyless starting and a rear spoiler. Opting for the Series.Blue adds the special paint, red-painted brake calipers and aerodynamic enhancements. In any of the additional forms the BRZ really offers a lot for the owner to enjoy and show off to their friends and neighbors.

With all the performance and highly tuned road control this car comes in at a steal of a price starting out at $26,500 for the base model. The Limited trim adds an additional $2,000 to the price and $3,000 worth of an increase if the automatic transmission is selected. The Series.Blue is actually very reasonable for a limited edition vehicle coming in just over $30,000 making it a very affordable limited vehicle. Even though the BRZ starts out higher than some other sports cars, the base model offers a lot more for drivers to enjoy versus the competition.
