A few “Must Know” Items Regarding the Titan

2016 Nissan Titan XD

The 2016 model year is an exciting year for the Nissan Titan and those that love this amazing truck.  As a truck that entered the market nearly a decade ago with all the latest and greatest technologies, the Titan has been completely redone to give us a new generation and a  truck that is updated and ready to get out there and get the job done.  With that in mind here are some of the more important items to know about the Titan as you get ready to trade yours in for a brand new 2016 model.

Two Models to Choose From – The new Titan will offer two different chassis sizes and be two similar but very different trucks.  The XD is the larger of the two and will be on sale near the end of this year while the base model will not arrive until the early part of the 2016 calendar year. The two trucks will have nearly sixty percent of the came components and both will be offered in 2WD and 4WD.  The base model is expected to enjoy the power of a V6 or V8 but will not have a diesel engine as that is exclusive to the XD.

Massive Torque – Nissan is referring to it as the “triple nickel” because the XD with the 5.0-liter DOHC turbo-diesel V8 engine will pack 310 horsepower but a massive 555 lb.-ft. of torque.  This allows the truck to be both powerful and efficient at the same time, giving it the ability to be one of the best work trucks we have seen on the market to date.  This engine will be attached to a six-speed Aisin automatic transmission which will have smooth shifting to give you the best overall drive possible.

It’s not a Light or Heavy Duty – If there was a Middle Duty truck the Titan would fit the bill.  This gives you the opportunity to enjoy some high powered work and get the job done but also have the fuel mileage that you can enjoy instead of worrying about paying a huge fee just to have the heavy duty power.  This makes the Titan the perfect work vehicle but also great for those who just want a truck that has power on the weekend and can give them a smooth and enjoyable ride during the work week.  This makes the Titan the right choice because many truck owners flip back and forth never finding the right balance; well here it is with a Nissan badge on it.

Get into the Towing – The Titan comes fully equipped to tow whatever you need.  This truck has an integrated brake controller, sway control, a downhill hauling mode, a keyless system that works through the turn and brake signals when you connect the trailer to the truck and even a backup camera that has trailer guides on it.  This truck is made to haul and all these features help to make the hauling much easier for you.

More Cupholders – We must love our variety of drinks because Nissan has stated their research shows we need three cupholders just for you the driver to have the drinks you want.  That’s perfectly fine, but it does move the shifter of this truck to the column and deletes the gated shifter.  This really is only a concern for those who already had a Titan and were used to the old shifter and where it was located.  For the rest of us, this is not a big deal at all and will easily be an overlooked change that doesn’t really matter.

The new Nissan Titan will be arriving at dealerships very soon.  You can almost feel the excitement building in the air as the weather has turned cooler and we head toward fall.  This long overdue change for the Titan may make it a leader in the market once again.  It will be exciting to see the reaction to the new XD as new buyers drive them, and then again with the new base models arrive.  If you are looking for a new Titan to be your next great truck or are one of those that gets stuck between the light and heavy duty choices, the Titan will be at Nissan dealers soon for you to check it out.
