Nissan is in the midst of an overhaul, changing its lineup to give you more of what you want, including an update to the Nissan Murano.
The Murano has been one of the most stylish and attractive midsize SUVs in the entire market. The new model receives some fresh updates to give it a facelift and bring it in line with the other Nissan models, giving this gem a fantastic new look. This Nissan SUV is ready to take the next step toward being the midsize SUV that you will want to drive.
Nissan adds more style
When you see the Murano, you’ll notice that its taken on a new look, but still has its sculpted beauty and style that you want to enjoy. This SUV has a set of “hidden” daytime running lights in the grille that will catch your attention and light up to form the signature V-motion grille. This front end also has cube-like LED headlights that are much different from the point, swoopy versions that were part of the previous model.
This Nissan SUV also has a new tailgate and bumper that tucks the rear wiper and exhaust tips away from your view. The license plate has been moved to the bumper to emphasize the full-width LED taillights that have become part of every new vehicle that you see. The tailgate is now powered on all models, with the top trim receiving a kick sensor to make it open automatically.
No more floating roof
The previous generation of the Nissan Murano featured a floating roof design that gave it an interesting and stylish appearance. This has finally been replaced with a black roof separated from the body by a long, arching piece of silver trim. In addition to the roof style changes, the mirrors moved down to the doors, and the handles are now body colored to give consistency to the exterior and make it look more stylish than ever before.
Nissan added a set of large wheels that can measure as large as 21 inches on some models. These big wheels are housed under impressive fender flares that help increase the width of the Murano by 2.6 inches.
Going inside for more upgrades
The cabin area received some upgrades, which were long overdue. The new cabin looks great and has glasswork that Nissan is calling “Murano Glass,” which color shifts with the light. This name is taken from the Venetian island, from which the SUV receives its name. You’ll also find the top trim can be had with heated, ventilated, and massaging front seats, which makes this SUV much more comfortable.
The dashboard is where you’ll see the most significant upgrades. There are now two 12.3-inch screens that dominate the design to give you the tech you want to enjoy. There are also touch-sensitive climate controls that come from the Nissan Ariya. This change means fewer buttons in the dashboard, giving you the modern style desired.
Depending on the trim, you can have wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and enjoy the optional 10-speaker Bose audio system which makes your Murano sound amazing. The active noise cancelling technology gives you a quieter interior, ensuring you have the silence you’re looking for during your drive.
The biggest change
The new 2025 Nissan Murano allows this SUV to enter a new generation and gives you more of what you want. The previous generation featured a highly regarded 3.5-liter V6 engine in every trim, but now a new VC-Turbo powertrain, which is a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. This engine is now mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission instead of the outdated CVT of the previous model. The horsepower drops from 260 to 241, but the torque increases from 240 lb-ft to 260 lb-ft, which seems like a fair trade. The new powertrain doesn’t actually change the fuel mileage but reduces the overall weight of the Murano.
A better ride
The shocks have been upgraded to new frequency-selective models that should improve the ride quality of this SUV. Other aspects of the suspension remain the same, making it easy to admire what this SUV has to offer.
Nissan improved its midsize SUV with the ability to support both ProPilot Assist and ProPilot Assist 1.1. This allows you to have the most advanced safety package from the brand and helps you drive by slowing for curves when detected.
The 2025 Nissan Murano takes some amazing steps forward in terms of tech and style, making it easy to choose this midsize SUV when you want an attractive and enjoyable drive on any road.
