Several new Chevy electric vehicles should arrive close to 2024 to give us more options for electrification.
Until now, the only EV wearing the bowtie badge is the Bolt EV, but electric vehicles are becoming more popular and widespread than ever before. Eventually, we’ll see an electrified version of every Chevrolet vehicle, but that movement starts with some upcoming models. Let’s dig in and see what’s coming in the next several months from this brand.
The new Chevrolet Bolt EUV Is Here
The most sensible new EV added to the lineup is the Bolt EUV. This is an SUV version of the current Bolt EV, which gives us a small electric crossover from the Chevy brand. This small and active crossover brings a 200 horsepower electric motor that uses a 65.0-kWh battery pack to give you the energy to power your drive. The driving range is an estimated 247 miles from a single full charge, giving you plenty of distance to travel every day. This new SUV competes with the Hyundai Kona Electric and Tesla Model Y with other small electric crossovers on the way.
The Launch Edition model is the first entry for the Chevrolet Bolt EUV, giving us a model that includes the benefits of Super Cruise. This cruise system is a semi-autonomous driving system which showed up in Cadillac models recently. You’ll see a light-up charge port, a sunroof, and interesting wheel designs in this small electric crossover.
Stepping inside the Bolt EUV gives you a flat-bottom steering wheel, push-button gear selector, and upholstery with a geometric pattern to offer the look and pattern you can admire. This new model is longer, taller, and wider than the regular Bolt EV, giving you more cargo room, comfortable rear seats, and the added space you desire in a crossover SUV.
We Will Have an Electric Chevy Blazer for the 2024 Model Year
When the Chevrolet Blazer returned to the SUV market, it came advertised as a sporty midsize crossover. The front fascia provides this point with qualities inspired by the Camaro muscle car. Before the 2024 model year arrives, the Blazer EV will give us the silent drive we desire. Strangely, an electric Blazer SS variant will appear at the same time. We’re focused on the electric version and what it should bring for our driving experience when ready for a bit of fun.
The electric Blazer with the SS badging is the first electric model to receive both treatments. It seems this new version of the Chevy Blazer is targeting the Ford Mustang Mach-E and will compete with it head-to-head. It seems the Ford already has a leg up because its already on the road, but maybe the new Blazer will offer something we want that isn’t found in the Mach-E. The Blazer should use a similar platform to the GMC Hummer EV but likely only include the single and dual-motor models that could give this SUV as much as 580 horsepower from this layout.
A New Electric Chevrolet Equinox Changes the Game
The first images of the electrified Chevy Equinox show us an SUV that’s much more stylish and sleek than the previous models. It’s possible the entire Equinox lineup will see upgrades for the 2024 model year, which is when the Equinox EV arrives, but we’re focused on the electric version. This new compact crossover SUV uses the GM Ultium battery platform, and it should cost around $30,000. We will see this new Equinox on sale in fall 2023 to bring in the 2024 model year.
We already see a strong futuristic look to this new electrified Equinox model, which will show up in the LT and RS trim levels. We don’t have much information regarding the mechanical aspects of this SUV but we know it should give us a driving range of nearly 300 miles. This allows the Chevy to enter the compact crossover EV market with a competitive driving range. With the LT and RS trims offered, you’ll have the option of a sporty version or one that is more suitable for family driving. As we get closer to the release date, we’ll learn a lot more about what the new Chevrolet Equinox EV should offer.
The Chevrolet Silverado EV is Ready to Compete
We’ve heard a lot about this new Chevy truck powered by nothing but electricity. The Chevrolet brand has changed its tune since the first time we discussed this truck. Now, instead of making us wait for the WT model, it will show up for the 2024 model year along with the RST version. These two trims are the bookends of the truck, with more trims added later to fill out the range. Could this be the new electric truck you want to drive?
We see some qualities in the new 2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV that come from the former Avalanche. Specifically, this new electric truck has a rear wall between the bed and cab that lowers and folds down to give you more cargo space. This means you can place several items in this area that are longer than what the bed can handle. Towing for this Chevy truck is 10,000 pounds, and the payload capacity reaches 1,300 pounds. The WT model should offer a starting price of $39,900, and it can be an ideal truck for fleet operators to put out on the road getting the job done.
Will You Drive One of these Electrified Chevys?
With four new electric models filling out the Chevrolet lineup over the next couple of years, you’ll have excellent options for which model to drive. Will you take the small Bolt EUV home or wait for the Equinox EV or Blazer EV? Are you looking for a pickup truck to give you electrified power and plenty of ways to get things done? The Silverado EV could be the truck you want to enjoy. Chevy is going electric, and you can join this movement by finding one of the EV models wearing your favorite bowtie brand name.
