Additional Range Means a Lot in the Chevy Bolt EV

Additional Range Means a Lot in the Chevy Bolt EV

Many models are competing for your attention with the Chevy Bolt EV being one of the most impressive and useful models you can choose.

The greatest challenge to driving an electric vehicle is handling the range that’s offered. No matter what the range numbers are, there hasn’t been an EV that’s been made to charge as fast as a tank of gas can be filled. Because of this, it’s important that an electric vehicle is offered with enough range to handle all of your driving for at least a full day.

More for the 2020 Model

Chevrolet has announced an increase in the range offered for the Bolt EV for the 2020 model year. With other EV models showing up with range numbers that exceeded the Bolt, it was important to Chevy to continue to lead the way in this category. Because of this, the Chevy team has found a way to increase the driving range of this EV from 238 miles to 259 miles on a single full charge. That increase of 21 miles could make a difference to you when you’re making a daily commute in the Bolt.

The Chevy Bolt EV is Leading the Way

When compared to other EV models on the market, the Chevy Bolt is leading the way with the range that you want to enjoy. The 259 miles of range is more than the Nissan Leaf 62kWh which is 226 miles, the Tesla Model 3 which offers you 240 miles in the standard model, and the Hyundai Kona EV which gives you 258 miles. This new battery range for the Chevy Bolt EV is the result of an increase in battery capacity for the car which is bumped from 60 kWh to 66 kWh to give you the new range that you want to enjoy.

Where Does the Extended Range Come From?

The increase in the range of the Chevy Bolt EV isn’t just the result of the added capacity of the battery pack. This new range also comes from some chemistry changes that were developed by the Chevrolet engineers. These small changes have an impressive impact on the range of the vehicle to make sure you can drive longer. The size of the Chevy Bolt remains the same and will likely continue to look and feel the way it has for the past couple of years.

Choose the Chevy Bolt EV and Drive Farther

There are now two new colors offered for the Chevy Bolt EV which are Oasis Blue and Cayenne Orange Metallic. You’ll be glad to have these color options when you’re ready to buy the new 2020 Chevrolet Bolt EV that you want to drive on the roads in your area. This added range might be enough to take you out to dinner, complete another commute, or make it easier for you to run a few more errands throughout the week. The increase of 21 miles might not sound like much, but this is an excellent electric vehicle for you to have the drive you’re looking for.
