Chevrolet Goes Electric with the New Equinox EV

Chevy continues jump feet first into the electric vehicle market with the addition of the Equinox EV to its lineup. This new EV will share a name with the gas-powered Equinox, but that’s where the similarities will end. You can expect the new Chevrolet Equinox EV to hit your Chevrolet dealer lot in the fall of 2023.

Powered by Electricity

Chevy will build the Equinox EV on GM’s new Ultium platform. This game-changing platform underpins several upcoming EVs and features a flexible battery structure. The base powertrain will have one electric motor delivering 210 horsepower and sending power to the front wheels. The all-wheel drive Equinox EV will have two electric motors. This setup generates 290 horsepower and will get you an impressive 280 miles of range.

Charging Up Made Easier Than Ever

Range anxiety is a thing of the past with the Equinox EV. Plug in at home with the standard level 2 charging and add up to 34 miles of range in an hour. If you are out on the road, plug into a DC Fast Charge station and get up to 70 miles of range in just 10 minutes. The Equinox EV even has the technology to help you find the nearest charging station, and the Energy Assist App will help you find the most efficient route.

A Modern Exterior Design

The Equinox EV will stand out on any Chevrolet dealer lot with its sleek and modern exterior look. It has a more aggressive stance than the gas-powered Equinox and has an innovative walk-up lighting animation feature in the front and back. A presence-based liftgate will open up when the key fog is close to the rear of the vehicle, so you can easily access the cargo area even when your hands are full.

Technology That Excites

You won’t miss a turn with your navigation directions displayed on the available 17.7-inch central touch screen, and you no longer need to turn a key or push a button to get the Equinox EV started. It will sense when you’re sitting in the driver’s seat with the key fob and start right up. Just shift into Drive and hit the road.

Safety Around Every Corner

Safety is always a top priority with Chevrolet, and the Equinox EV has your back. Chevy Safety Assist is a comprehensive suite of driver aids to keep the driver alert and safe. With systems such as automatic emergency braking, front pedestrian braking, a following distance indicator, and automatic high beam headlights, you’ll feel confident no matter where the road takes you.
In addition to all these, the Equinox EV will also be available with Super Cruise hands-free driving technology.
If you like lots of power, instant acceleration, and the latest technology and safety features, make sure to head to your Chevrolet dealer in 2023 so you can get behind the wheel of the new Equinox EV. Chevy will offer it in several trim levels and will get up to 300 miles of range on a single charge.
