With 280 miles of range, room for five passengers, and genuine off-road chops thanks to 8.3 inches of ground clearance and X-MODE, the Trailseeker aims to prove that going electric doesn’t mean giving up the adventurous spirit Subaru buyers expect. Available in three trims and arriving at dealers early next year, it’s priced thousands below competitors like the Hyundai Ioniq 5 AWD while delivering similar specs.

This new Subaru SUV has a 74.7 kWh battery pack, which is good for 280 miles of driving range. The 2026 Subaru Trailseeker is larger than the Solterra, giving you up to 32.2 cubic feet of cargo room in the rear. The Solterra only offers 23.8 cubic feet of space. The Trailseeker is also six inches longer than the smaller SUV. You can also tow up to 3,500 pounds with this new SUV and load up the roof rails with up to 700 pounds of gear.
The dashboard looks much more advanced than most other Subaru models, with a 14-inch touchscreen that connects you with wireless Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. The upholstery comes in either gray or black and is the StarTex material that has become part of Subaru vehicles. Higher trims give you black or blue colors for the upholstery.
A narrow price range for the 2026 Subaru Trailseeker
The three trims of this new electric SUV are Premium, Limited, and Touring. The Premium starts at $39,995, the Limited comes in at $43,995, and the Touring tops the range at $46,555. That means there’s less than $7,000 between the top and bottom trims, which is an extremely narrow price range.
Going up to the Limited trim adds a few items, including:
